Real Women Have Curves stitches together the hilarious, heartfelt, and sometimes chaotic lives of five curvy Latina seamstresses striving to make ends meet—while fighting for their future. With a deadline looming to finish 200 dresses in just three weeks, the pressure is on, leading to nonstop gossip, laugh-out-loud moments, and the occasional sewing machine meltdown. As they navigate work, family pressures, and the curveballs life throws their way, this uplifting play celebrates sisterhood, self-love, and breaking free from society’s tight seams—one stitch at a time!

Meet the Cast

Regina Carregha

Regina Carregha is a bilingual, award-winning actress originally from Cancún, Mexico, and based in New York. Recent theater credits include Espejos: Clean (Milwaukee Rep), where her performance earned a BroadwayWorld Award nomination for Best Actress, and How to Melt ICE (Boundless Theater Company), for which she received the LATA Award for Best Actress. Regina has toured nationally four times with Sugar Skull (Rhythm of the Arts) and twice with El Otro Oz (TheatreWorks USA). She also directed How to Melt ICE in Mexico with the Instituto de Cultura y las Artes. TV and Film: Surviving Myself, Havana Coyotes, Plant Moms, Duplicity.Through works like Carta a toda mujer, Tita, A Decade Later, and Addicted (in progress), Regina’s mission as a storyteller is to explore the human experience and challenge the very notion of taboo—asking not just what we silence, but why.

Paulina De La Parra is a Mexican actress and singer based in New York City. In Mexico, she performed in Legally Blonde, the concert at the Metropolitan Theatre and Vive en Nuevo Musical at Banamex theater, among other productions. In the U.S., her credits include Cordelia in King Lear (Island Shakespeare Festival), Genoveva in 8 Tales of Pedro (Queens Theatre), Amar después de la muerte (Repertorio Español), Lola in All the Lonely Women (Rattlestick Playwrights Theater), Mary Dilber in the 30 year anniversary of A Christmas Carol (Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park), and T & R of Women by Tonya Pinkins. On screen, she has appeared in national commercials for McDonald’s (El Spicy Menu) and
HomeGoods. She is a graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and currently works with LAByrinth Theater Company. Paulina is passionate about amplifying Latino voices and is committed to bringing diverse, underrepresented stories to the stage and screen.

Ava Sofia Mattox is a SAG-AFTRA actress based in New York City. She starred as 3 in the premiere of absurdist play, I Have This Many*** by Mariana Catalina at the 2017 Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and was an original cast member in the premiere of Quicksand adapted by Regina Robbins for Everyday Inferno Theater Company. She has several Film/TV credits including Helpsters!, The Other Two, and Peas and Carrots. She is excited to make a return to stage with this wonderful production and cast.

Luana Psaros (she/her) is a Brazilian-California native and a graduate of NYU Tisch’s New Studio on Broadway. She has appeared in Canta Una Nueva Canción at Teatro Latea, Becoming Nancy directed by Jerry Mitchell at the Alliance Theatre, Broadway’s Rising Stars at The Town Hall and the upcoming concept album of The Fish Queen of the Gowanus Canal. She has also performed throughout New York City at venues including Carnegie Hall, Feinstein’s/54 Below, and Green Room 42. As the daughter of immigrants, Luana is honored to be part of telling this story.

Adela Romero is a Venezuelan Art and Theater specialist from Universidad Central de Venezuela. She is an actress, director, acting teacher, dancer, choreographer, singer and Fine Artist. She began her career as a dancer with Danzas Venezuela in 1978 and as an actress in theater and television in 1983, while pursuing a lifelong passion for teaching. She relocated to Miami in 2005 after receiving a Telemundo writers’ scholarship. Since 2012, she has directed 23 plays in Miami, including Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, Tartuffe, Crimes of the Heart, and Othello. Recent credits include Carmen and Cecilia Valdes, the operas (Choir), Abuela Claudia in In the Heights, Bernarda in The House of Bernarda Alba, and Consuelo in On Your Feet National Tour.
