Don McCloskey returns to Bristol Riverside Theatre for a one-night-only performance with his eight-piece band on January 28th. The concert marks the first time the Bristol native will play the theater since the release of his newest album, The Chaos and The Beauty. His newest collection of ten original songs released in April of this year has received critical praise and has been well received by listeners both state side and globally. The lead single “First in Flight” was featured prominently in the Season 2 finale of the Apple TV series Mythic Quest, has received significant airplay locally on both WMMR and WXPN, and has been streamed digitally over 2 million times.

Since the release of The Chaos and The Beauty, Don and his band (drums, bass, guitars, keys, percussion, vocalists and horns) have played a string of sold-out shows including two nights opening for the cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia at The Met as well as their album release show at Ardmore Music Hall. Philadelphia radio has embraced the album and lead to appearances on WMMR’s The Preston and Steve Show, WXPN’s Free at Noon and NPR’s Live Sessions.

Previous to the release of The Chaos and The Beauty, McCloskey earned his loyal following by playing hundreds of high-energy shows across the United States both as a headlining act and sharing stages with a wide variety of bands, singer-songwriters, rappers and entertainers including G Love, Questlove, Amos Lee, Raekwon, Donavon Frankenreiter, Trombone Shorty and the cast of It’s Always Sunny. His songs have appeared in film, tv, radio, ad campaigns, podcasts and the Academy Award winning film Bowling for Columbine.

McCloskey is excited to return to the theater he grew up working in both as a stagehand and as a performer for an evening of songs from the new album and fan favorites. The performance is expected to sell out and getting tickets in advance is highly recommended.
