Bristol Riverside Theatre is seeking strong, local, singers and dancers, ages 10-18 years old for our upcoming production of big, The Musical. Young actors will share roles and will perform in ½ of the performances. If you know a young person who loves performing, singing, dancing, and/or acting, who’s not shy, who loves dressing up, and dreams of being on the stage, this is that chance! Past experience is not required.

What Is the Commitment?

The schedule is divided into:
1) Pre Rehearsal Choreography/Music
2) Staging Rehearsals
3) Technical Rehearsals/Previews
4) Regular Performances.

• Choreography and Music Pre Rehearsals: will be on Saturday and Sunday, February 10/11 and 17/18 from 10am to 1pm.
• Staging Rehearsals: run from Feb. 19 – March 10. Each week young actors will rehearse up to 4 weekday evenings (4pm to 8pm) plus Saturdays (10-2) and Sundays (10am – 6pm).
• Technical Rehearsals: March 12 – 15 is “tech” and young actors may need to miss parts of the school day, though we will keep this to a minimum. Rehearsals are 12pm– 8pm with most young actors called from 3pm or 4pm to 8pm.
• Preview Performances: Entail rehearsals from 11am – 4pm on Tuesday, March 19, 20 and 21, in which young may be asked to miss a portion of the school day for important last-minute rehearsals.
• Performances: From March 19 through April 14 we run Wednesday – Sunday. There are Wednesday/Thursday matinees at 2pm so young actors will have to leave school early for those performances.

Parents of interested young actors should email casting@brtstage.org. In reply to your email, you will receive a short script, vocal track/music, and dance combo video to create an audition video. Callbacks will be in person at Bristol Riverside Theatre, by invitation. Prior experience is not necessary!
