Position Summary
Bristol Riverside Theatre seeks a part-time Bartender to join our Front of House team. This role is responsible for providing efficient, friendly beverage and concessions service to patrons before performances and during intermission, while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming concessions area.
This position averages 4–12 hours per week during the performance season (approximately 25–27 weeks per year). Shifts are primarily evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, courteous service to patrons in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Accurately process transactions using the POS system (Square)
- Handle cash and credit card payments responsibly
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and report on low-stocked items
- Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Reconcile sales at the end of each shift and ensure deposits are accurate
- Collaborate with House Management and FOH staff to ensure smooth operations
- Support bar service for special events and rentals, as needed
Qualifications
- Friendly, welcoming, and professional demeanor
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, particularly during intermission rushes
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Previous food service or bartending experience preferred
- Familiarity with Square or similar POS systems a plus
- RAMP certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
