Siblings Vanya and Sonia enjoy a quiet life in their family’s Bucks County farmhouse—until their glamorous, movie-star sister, Masha, bursts in with her much-younger, hunky boyfriend, Spike. As old grudges resurface and outrageous surprises unfold, this dysfunctional family navigates their past, future, and each other in the most absurdly funny ways. Get ready for plenty of laughs, unexpected twists, and a little bit of chaos!

DANTE GIANNETTA (Spike) is an actor, singer, musician, and competitive bodybuilder based in NYC. His performing credits include appearances Off-Broadway (Waiting in the Wings) and at The Metropolitan Opera (Aida). As a writer, Dante has penned plays and films that have been recognized at festivals worldwide. Offstage, he is a freelance Art Director and business owner, creating TV commercials and billboards for Broadway productions. ALAN SAFIER (Vanya) is making his third appearance at Bristol Riverside Theatre, having performed two of his solo-actor shows here: as comedy legend George Burns in Say Goodnight, Gracie, and as all 27 characters in Humbug!, the musical version of A Christmas Carol. He recently completed a run as Willie Clark, the crusty ex-vaudevillian in Neil Simon’s The Sunshine Boys. The actor, singer, playwright and teacher has played a lot of famous (and infamous) people in his career, including Truman Capote, Spiro Agnew, John Adams, Albert Einstein and Charles Guiteau (in the L.A. premiere of Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins). Alan has also been heard on hundreds of commercial voice-overs, including a long stint as the voice of the Kibbles ’n Bits dog. He has taught acting at Working Actors Studio in New York City, and is the author of six plays, including Somebody Loves Me; Say, Kids! What Time Is It?; and Love, Loss, & What I Drove. A native Clevelander, Alan lives in Manhattan but remains a devoted Guardians fan. Vanya and Sonia is the 74th stage production of his career. AMANDA SCHOONOVER (Sonia) is best known as the sassy eavesdropping Waitress on the GLAAD nominated Dispatches From Elsewhere on AMC where she co-starred opposite Jason Segel, Sally Field, and Andre (3000) Benjamin. Film/Television: Candy Cane Lane with Eddie Murphy, NBC’s Do No Harm opposite Phylicia Rashad and HBO’s Perry Mason with Shea Whigham.  As a theater artist, she is a two-time Barrymore Award recipient and 9-time nominee, as well as being a Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Program Artist in Residence at 1812 Productions for The It Girl and an F.
